Primitives over frameworks
We extract the general solution before solving the specific problem. A well-designed primitive outlasts any framework built on top of it.
Rewrite when wrong
Accumulating abstraction over a bad foundation is not progress. We cut losses early and rebuild correctly rather than patch indefinitely.
Zero-config developer experience
Convention over configuration. The right default should require no explanation, and deviation should be explicit and intentional.
Interfaces are not cosmetic
Typography, motion, and layout are engineering decisions. A poorly designed interface is a poorly engineered product.
Explicit over implicit — except where it hurts
We favor explicitness in APIs and data flow, but not at the cost of ergonomics. Boilerplate that adds no clarity gets removed.
Own the abstraction boundary
We know exactly where our code ends and a dependency begins. Abstractions we do not understand do not ship.
